ದೇವರಾಜ-ಸೇವ್ಯಮಾನ-ಪಾವನಾಂಘ್ರಿ-ಪಂಕಜಂ (Devaraja-Sevyamaana-Paavanaamghri-Pankajam):
Worshipping the lotus feet of Lord Kala Bhairava, who is revered by the king of gods.
ವ್ಯಾಳಯಜ್ಞ-ಸೂತ್ರಮಿಂದು-ಶೇಖರಂ ಕೃಪಾಕರಮ್ (Vyaalayajna-Sootramindu-Shekharam Kripaakaram):
Adorned with a serpent as a sacred thread and the moon on the head, the embodiment of mercy.
ನಾರದಾದಿ-ಯೋಗಿಬೃಂದ-ವಂದಿತಂ ದಿಗಂಬರಂ (Naaradaadi-Yogibrinda-Vanditam Digambara):
Praised by Narada and other groups of yogis, the one who is naked (symbolizing detachment).

I worship Lord Kala Bhairava, the ruler of Kashi (Varanasi), the form of Lord Shiva associated with time.
ಭಾನುಕೋಟಿ-ಭಾಸ್ವರಂ ಭವಬ್ಧಿತಾರಕಂ ಪರಂ (Bhaanukoti-Bhaasvaram BhavaBhdhitaarakam Param):
Resplendent like billions of suns, the supreme remover of the ocean of worldly existence.
ನೀಲಕಂಠ-ಮೀಪ್ಸಿತಾರ್ಧ-ದಾಯಕಂ ತ್ರಿಲೋಚನಮ್ (Neelakantha-Meepsitaardha-Daayakam Trilochanam):
The one with a blue throat, the giver of desired goals, and three eyes.
ಕಾಲಕಾಲ-ಮಂಬುಜಾಕ್ಷ-ಮಕ್ಷಶೂಲ-ಮಕ್ಷರಂ (Kaala Kaala-Manbujaksha-Maksha Shoola Maksharam):
Having eyes like the lotus in the water of time, wielding the spear of detachment and the drum of creation.

ಶೂಲಟಂಕ-ಪಾಶದಂಡ-ಪಾಣಿಮಾದಿ-ಕಾರಣಂ (Shoolatanaka-Paasha Danda Paanimadi Kaaranam):
Holding the trident, noose, and staff, the cause of everything with hands and more.
ಶ್ಯಾಮಕಾಯ-ಮಾದಿದೇವ-ಮಕ್ಷರಂ ನಿರಾಮಯಮ್ (Shyaamakaaya-Maadideva-Maksharam Niraamayam):
Dark in complexion, the primordial god, the imperishable and healthy.
ಭೀಮವಿಕ್ರಮಂ ಪ್ರಭುಂ ವಿಚಿತ್ರ ತಾಂಡವ ಪ್ರಿಯಂ (Bheemavikramam Prabhum Vichitra Taandava Priyam):
The immensely powerful lord, fond of the diverse and unique dance of Tandava.

The bestower of material wealth and liberation, with an enchanting and auspicious form.
ಭಕ್ತವತ್ಸಲಂ ಸ್ಥಿರಂ ಸಮಸ್ತಲೋಕ-ವಿಗ್ರಹಮ್ (Bhaktavatsalam Sthiram Samastaloka-Vigraham):
Affectionate towards devotees, stable, and the embodiment of the entire universe.
ನಿಕ್ವಣನ್-ಮನೋಜ್ಞ-ಹೇಮ-ಕಿಂಕಿಣೀ-ಲಸತ್ಕಟಿಂ (Nikvannamanoyjna-Hemakinkinee-Lasatkatin):
Adorned with ornaments made of jewels, charming, and shining with a golden belt.

ಧರ್ಮಸೇತು-ಪಾಲಕಂ ತ್ವಧರ್ಮಮಾರ್ಗ ನಾಶಕಂ (Dharmasetu-palakam tvadharma-marga nashakam):
O Lord Kala Bhairava, the protector of righteousness, destroyer of the path of unrighteousness,
ಕರ್ಮಪಾಶ-ಮೋಚಕಂ ಸುಶರ್ಮ-ದಾಯಕಂ ವಿಭುಮ್ । (Karma-pasha-mochakam susharma-dayakam vibhum):
Liberator from the bondage of karma (actions), the bestower of auspiciousness and prosperity, the omnipotent.
ಸ್ವರ್ಣವರ್ಣ-ಕೇಶಪಾಶ-ಶೋಭಿತಾಂಗ-ನಿರ್ಮಲಂ (Suvarna-varna-keshapasha-shobhitamganganirmalam):
O Lord Kala Bhairava, whose body shines with a golden hue, adorned with a garland of serpents,

ರತ್ನ-ಪಾದುಕಾ-ಪ್ರಭಾಭಿರಾಮ-ಪಾದಯುಗ್ಮಕಂ (Ratna-Paaduka-Prabhaabhirama-Padayugmakam):
Adorned with jewel-studded sandals, delighting in the brilliance of the divine feet.
ನಿತ್ಯ-ಮದ್ವಿತೀಯ-ಮಿಷ್ಟ-ದೈವತಂ ನಿರಂಜನಮ್ (Nitya-Madvitiiya-Mishta-Daivatam Niranjnam):
Eternal, without a second, the desired deity, and without blemish.
ಮೃತ್ಯುದರ್ಪ-ನಾಶನಂ ಕರಾಳದಂಷ್ಟ್ರ-ಭೂಷಣಂ (Mrutyudarpa-Naashanam Karaaladamshtra-Bhooshanam):
The destroyer of the god of death, adorned with fierce fangs as ornaments.

ಅಟ್ಟಹಾಸ-ಭಿನ್ನ-ಪದ್ಮಜಾಂಡಕೋಶ-ಸಂತತಿಂ (Attahaasa-Bhinnapadmajaandakosha-Samtatim):
Always smiling, beyond duality, the one with the universe as His perpetual abode.
ದೃಷ್ಟಿಪಾತ-ನಷ್ಟಪಾಪ-ಜಾಲಮುಗ್ರ-ಶಾಸನಮ್ (Drishtipaat-Nashtapaapa-Jaalamugra-Shaasanam):
The fierce ruler, dispelling sins with a mere glance, and governing with a powerful scepter.
ಅಷ್ಟಸಿದ್ಧಿ-ದಾಯಕಂ ಕಪಾಲಮಾಲಿಕಾ-ಧರಂ (Ashtasiddhi-Daayakam Kapalamalikaadharam):
The giver of the eight siddhis, adorned with a garland of skulls around His neck.

ಭೂತಸಂಘ-ನಾಯಕಂ ವಿಶಾಲಕೀರ್ತಿ-ದಾಯಕಂ (Bhootasangha-Naayakam Vishaalakeertidaayakam):
The leader of spiritual beings, bestowing extensive fame.
ಕಾಶಿವಾಸಿ-ಲೋಕ-ಪುಣ್ಯಪಾಪ-ಶೋಧಕಂ ವಿಭುಮ್ (Kaashivaasi-Loka-Punyapaapa-Shodhakam Vibhum):
Residing in Kashi, the purifier of the world's virtues and sins, the omnipresent.
ನೀತಿಮಾರ್ಗ-ಕೋವಿದಂ ಪುರಾತನಂ ಜಗತ್ಪತಿಂ (Neetimaargakovidam Puraatanam Jagatpatim):
The knower of the path of righteousness, ancient, and the lord of the universe.

I worship Lord Kala Bhairava,
ಕಾಲಭೈರವಾಷ್ಟಕಂ ಪಠಂತಿ ಯೇ ಮನೋಹರಂ(Kala-bhairavaashtakam pathanti ye manoharam):
Those who recite the enchanting Kala Bhairava Ashtakam,
ಜ್ಞಾನಮುಕ್ತಿ-ಸಾಧಕಂ ವಿಚಿತ್ರ-ಪುಣ್ಯ-ವರ್ಧನಮ್ । (Jnanamukti-sadhakam vichitra-punya-vardhanam):
Achieve knowledge and liberation, and experience the increase of varied merits.
ಶೋಕಮೋಹ-ಲೋಭದೈನ್ಯ-ಕೋಪತಾಪ-ನಾಶನಂ (Shoka-moha-lobha-dainya-kopatapa-nashanam):
Eradicator of sorrow, delusion, greed, poverty, anger, and suffering,
ತೇ ಪ್ರಯಾಂತಿ ಕಾಲಭೈರವಾಂಘ್ರಿ-ಸನ್ನಿಧಿಂ ಧ್ರುವಮ್ ॥ (Te prayanti kala-bhairavaanghri-sannidhim dhruvam):
They attain the steadfast presence of Kala Bhairava's divine feet.
