ಆದಿದೇವ ನಮಸ್ತುಭ್ಯಂ ಪ್ರಸೀದ ಮಭಾಸ್ಕರ (Aadideva Namastubhyam Praseeda Mabhaaskara):
Salutations to the primordial deity, O radiant one, be pleased.
ದಿವಾಕರ ನಮಸ್ತುಭ್ಯಂ ಪ್ರಭಾಕರ ನಮೋಸ್ತುತೇ (Divaakara Namastubhyam Prabhaakara Namostute):
Salutations to the creator of the day, O illuminator, I bow down to you.
ಸಪ್ತಾಶ್ವ ರಧ ಮಾರೂಢಂ ಪ್ರಚಂಡಂ ಕಶ್ಯಪಾತ್ಮಜಂ (Saptaashva Radha Maaroodham Prachandam Kashyapaatmajam):
The one mounted on a chariot with seven horses, fierce and the son of Kashyapa.

The one with a red complexion, seated on a chariot, the father of all worlds.

ತ್ರೈಗುಣ್ಯಂ ಚ ಮಹಾಶೂರಂ ಬ್ರಹ್ಮ ವಿಷ್ಣು ಮಹೇಶ್ವರಂ (Traigunyam Cha Mahashooram Brahma Vishnu Maheshwaram):
The one beyond the three gunas (qualities), the great warrior, the trinity of Brahma, Vishnu, and Maheshwara.

Adorned with a rifle, shining like a flower, wearing a necklace and earrings.

The one wielding a single wheel (discus), I bow down to that Sun.
ವಿಶ್ವೇಶಂ ವಿಶ್ವ ಕರ್ತಾರಂ ಮಹಾತೇಜಃ ಪ್ರದೀಪನಂ (Vishwesham Vishwa Kartaaram Maha Tejah Pradeepanam):
The lord of the universe, the creator of the world, with great brilliance and illuminating radiance.

To that Sun, the leader of the world, the source of knowledge, wisdom, and liberation.

One who consumes food and honey during solar eclipse.
ಸಪ್ತ ಜನ್ಮ ಭವೇದ್ರೋಗೀ ಜನ್ಮ ಕರ್ಮ ದರಿದ್ರತಾ (Sapta Janma Bhavedrogi Janma Karma Daridrata):
Will be healthy and prosperous for seven lifetimes, and poverty and the effects of bad karma will be eradicated.
ಸ್ತ್ರೀ ತೈಲ ಮಧು ಮಾಂಸಾನಿ ಹಸ್ತ್ಯಜೇತ್ತು ರವೇರ್ಧಿನೇ (Stree Taila Madhu Maamsaani Hastyajettu Raverdhine):
Women should apply oil, consume honey and meat, and offer water to the Sun during the solar eclipse.
